Ram is continuing to one-up itself with its 2020 lineup of new trucks. These durable, tough and mean-looking vehicles are ready to tackle any work you throw their way.
For 2020, there are three versions of the Ram to help suit anyone’s level of heavy-duty needs. These Ram trucks feature new updates, changes to styling and included features, and offer the same tried and true history Ram is known for.
Without further ado, here’s a look at all of the 2020 Dodge Ram trucks.
2020 Ram 1500
MSRP: Starting at $32,145
Specs for the Ram 1500 are good right out of the gate. Gas mileage weighs in at 27MPG for highway driving, and it was deemed Best-in-Class for standard V6 fuel economy. With four engines and multiple configurations to choose from, certain Ram 1500s qualify for impressive power. It has a towing capacity for up to 12,750 pounds and payload of up to 2300 pounds.
On the inside, technology and seating make for a cozy experience. Active noise cancellation works to reduce ambient sounds that won’t even make you feel like you’re in a vehicle. Each trim comes with its own styling colors and materials that include pleather, premium cloth and vinyl in colors such as grey and tan.
The media centre has a ton auxiliary ports and charging outlets for easy tech use on long drives. Another luxury to point out is the 10-square-foot panoramic sunroof, a feature that has a roofless feel without being in a convertible.
It’s worth noting the Ram 1500 was awarded a Top Safety Pick+ in 2019, and it’s obvious why. Forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and its forward lighting system are prime options. Add blind spot monitoring and park assist to the mix, and your truck basically becomes a driving assistant while on the road.
There are six different trims to choose from. Starting prices from least to most expensive range from $32,145 to $53,665.
2020 Ram 2500
MSRP: Starting at $33,745
The next step up from the 1500 is the Ram 2500. It has almost double the payload capacity as the 1500, measured at 4010 pounds with a 6.4L V8 engine. When equipped with a 6.7L Turbo Diesel engine, the 2500 can tow nearly 19,700 pounds. A rear-axle structural crossmember is installed to ensure the heavy tows are properly supported.
Tech features in the Ram 2500 make it easier to do your work. Trailer Reverse Guidance View allows you to see both sides of your truck and trailer. The Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring system tracks the pressure of four trailers and up to 12 tires per trailer while on the go.
While the outside of the Ram 2500 is fierce and strong looking, there is lots of sophisticated luxury on the inside. Premium sound quality comes from the 17 surround sound speakers. The 12-inch touchscreen is also an option in this truck, with smartphone integration and SiriusXM available to drivers.
One of the safety features important to mention is the Adaptive Forward Lighting System. The LED lamps adjusts to 15 degrees to help increase the driver’s visibility. The active braking function will help drivers to brake if an accident is imminent, even with a trailer attached.
It comes in five different trims with starting prices ranging from the Tradesmen at $37,495 to the Limited at $64,890.
2020 Ram 3500
MSRP: Starting at $35,195
The Ram 3500 is the best of the best. It can tow up to 35,100 pounds, has a payload capacity of up to 7680 pounds and reaches four digits worth of torque. These capabilities are thanks to the one of three available engines called the 6.7L High-Output Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 engine. There’s also a desirable 410 horsepower and a 31 gallon fuel tank.
The Ram was voted Motortrend Truck of the Year back to back for its 2019 and 2020 models. It’s made for drivers who need to get stuff done for work and play. It also has a fresh new look for 2020 thanks to its five prominent gille designs. Extra money can buy you the full-LED headlamps, a feature that gives the Ram an iconic presence on the road. There are six trims to choose from that give you a bunch of options in customizing your Ram 3500.
Just like the other two Rams, the 3500 includes all of the best safety features you can offer. Lansense helps keep drivers in line with a lane departure warning with lane keep assist. Sensors in front and back of the truck will help drivers to maneuver tight parking spaces, with cameras projecting views around the vehicle on the 12-inch touchscreen. There’s also adaptive cruise control with stop capabilities, blind spot monitoring and prime lighting to guide your way through nighttime terrain.
The real luxury of the Ram 3500 is on the inside. Its reimagined console can hold a 15-inch laptop and comes with a wireless charging station. The seats look incredibly sleek and have more leather and real wood interior covering compared to other truck models. If your passengers are slow to call “shotgun”, the backseat won’t upset them. You can find similar luxuries in the back seat to keep people entertained and cozy.
Trims prices start at $39,045 for the Tradesman all the way to $66,240 for the Limited.
